Angul
Angul Judgeship with its headquarter at Angul was separated from its parent judgeship of Dhenkanal on 31st July, 2012. Thirty different courts are functioning in this judgeship with five outlying stations situated at Talcher, Athmallik, Pallahara, Chhendipada, and Banarpal. The Old District Court complex started functioning in 1996.
The New Court complex was inaugurated on 21st April, 2018. It includes one Virtual Centre of High Court of Orissa, e-Sewa Kendra, V.C. cabin, e-prosecution, and record room. The 3rd floor of District Court Building was inaugurated on 6th January, 2025 by the Court. Bio-metric system of attendance for staff was introduced in all stations of the Judgeship.
The Regional Judicial Academy, Angul imparts regular training to the Judicial Officers and ministerial staff posted in the cluster districts of Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, and Deogarh.
During the year, various legal awareness programmes were organized on different topics and significant days were observed by DLSA, Angul. Seventeen cases were settled in Mediation during the Campaign “Mediation for the Nation”, Drive-I, 2025. The Court and Office of the District and Sessions Judge was inspected on 17.05.2025 by Justice V. Narasingh, Administrative Judge of Angul Judgeship.
